Show Al-NanoFunc photos
As a novelty of the twelfth edition of Science Week, cicCartuja included in its program of activities a sample of scientific photography, entitled “Electron microscopy: an art”. This exhibition took place in the cicCartuja hall, between November 12 and 16, 2012, and was coordinated by Asunción Fernández Camacho, a researcher at the Materials Science Institute of Seville (ICMS) and responsible for the Al-NanoFunc Network ( Dedicated to the international study of functional nanomaterials).
The sample exhibited a set of images obtained by electron microscopy techniques. These micrographs corresponded to materials with varied functionality: from catalysts to optical devices, through sensors of various substances. These materials were previously prepared by scientists (mostly ICMS) as part of their research work. The micrographs exposed, retouched and colored for artistic purposes, were selected taking into account their appearance and the relevance of the material they represented.
